(ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo.) — Jurors in Arapahoe County convicted Jermaine Jay Quinata White, age 38, on multiple counts of sexual assault on a child occurring over a span of nine years.
Multiple agencies nationwide were involved in building the case, which began in July 2022 with a call to the Aurora Police Department. The victim, White’s 18-year-old stepdaughter, reported that she had been sexually assaulted many times by her stepfather since she was 9.
The victim also told police she had become pregnant at age 14 and had an abortion.
White’s three biological children were living in Texas with White’s sister at the time of the allegations. Law enforcement in Texas soon learned that all three girls had also been abused. White’s three daughters and his stepdaughter all showed up in court to testify against White.
After a week-long trial, White was convicted of 7 counts of Sexual Assault on Child by a Person in a Position of Trust, Aggravated Incest, and 3 counts of Aggravated Sex Offense (Sentence Enhancer), which amounts to life in prison.
“The accounts of what happened to these children are unconscionable and horrific,” said Senior Deputy DA Jacob Kremin in a press release Jan. 18. “They were exceptionally brave in speaking up about what was happening in their home, and the jury found their testimony to be credible. We hope that this verdict helps bring closure and justice to these victims.”
“These survivors were robbed of their childhood by a man who was supposed to love and protect them,” District Attorney John Kellner said. “There is no sentence that can restore their innocence and take away the trauma, but a lifelong prison sentence for this defendant can certainly assure the public and his family that they are safe.”
