(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — Jon Hallford one of the owners of Return to Nature Funeral Home was released on bail in the late evening of Monday, Jan. 29.
Hallford is accused of Mistreatment of Bodies after nearly 200 bodies were found improperly stored in Return to Nature’s Penrose location. On Jan. 4 Hallford’s bail was reduced from $2 million cash only to $100,000 based on arguments made by the defense about Hallford’s flight risk and lack of previous convictions.
Hallford’s bail stipulation is that he must wear a GPS ankle monitor and forfeit any passports for himself and his family. He was released at around 11 p.m. on Monday according to El Paso County Jail.
Hallford’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 8
