Warming shelters open during storm in Southern Colorado

(SOUTHERN COLORADO) — As of Wednesday, March 13, multiple locations across Southern Colorado have been announced as destinations for people needing shelter to escape the upcoming storm.

According to the American Red Cross of Colorado and Wyoming, both St. Peter Catholic Church at 55 Jefferson St. in Monument, and Goal High School at 1100 Swinglie Rd. in Falcon opened at 7 p.m. on March 13, and are offering warming centers with water and snacks.

The Pueblo Rescue Mission hosts a shelter at 728 W. 4th St. and reminds people on its Facebook page that it will continue to offer its emergency shelter services in a warm, sanitary, and drug-free environment.
