Downtown Urban Egg to reopen after renovations

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Urban Egg on Tejon Street in Downtown Colorado Springs is set to reopen just in time for Easter, after an extensive remodel.

“We have added a modern twist to the beautiful historic 1911 Dern Building. We think guests will love seeing how we’ve brightened the space, shifted seating and created an open kitchen. They will be walking into an entirely remodeled space to enjoy the breakfast favorites they know and love at Urban Egg,” said Randy Price, founder of Urban Egg.

The downtown location has been closed since December 2023 for the remodel.

“Urban Egg has stood for the same values since our first opening in this space over 10 years ago. Locally sourced ingredients, a fresh innovative twist to menu classics served in a warm inviting atmosphere with genuinely sincere service,” said Price. “This renovation better aligns the original Urban Egg location with the look we’ve refined over the years. With 9 locations across Colorado and Kansas, we are excited to reintroduce Urban Egg to the great Downtown Colorado Springs community.”

In addition to the renovated space, Urban Egg Downtown Colorado Springs will also employ nearly 45 full-time employees in both managerial and hourly roles.

Urban Egg has earned recognition as one of the Top 12 Restaurants in Colorado Springs by US News and World Report, Best Pancakes in Colorado by Readers Digest and Best Breakfast and Brunch for multiple years in the Colorado Springs Gazette and Independent.

The Urban Egg, located at 28B South Tejon Street, will reopen on Easter Sunday, March 31, and will operate Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. – 2 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, 7 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
