(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Gold Camp Road, which has been closed because of a trail renovation project, will be officially back open on Saturday, April 13. North Cheyenne Cañon Park, including North Cheyenne Canyon Road and Gold Camp Road, will be accessible to vehicles and people after that date.
Gold Camp Road was closed to allow for safety and road maintenance during the Ladders Trail extension, which took place on the ridge above the road.
“We would like to thank the public for their patience as we work to improve North Cheyenne Cañon Park, enhance the user experience, and create a safer more enjoyable environment,” said David Deitemeyer, Trails, Open Space and Parks (TOPS) Sr. Program Administrator. “Your understanding and support are greatly appreciated as we strive to make this area a better place for everyone to enjoy.”
There may be a few instances in the upcoming weeks when the road will need to close again for a short time, said Parks staff. To stay apprised of any upcoming closures, visit ColoradoSprings.gov/LaddersTrail.
