Free concert at Gold Hill Mesa will benefit veterans

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The summer concert series at Gold Hill Mesa, “Music on the Mesa” will feature a lineup of local bands from June to September 2024. This Saturday, June 22, The Dr. Fine Rhythm & Blues Revue will play for free from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. to benefit The Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center.

The Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center is a nonprofit organization that services veterans, military members, and their families. They provide employment assistance, behavioral health services, community resources, and more. The organization was started by Jay Cimino, CEO of Phil Long Dealerships, who recently passed away.

“This is a fantastic way to celebrate the summer months,” said Bob McLaughlin, retired Army colonel and executive director of Mt. Carmel. “And it will benefit our services as we help those who served our nation.”

The concert will be held on the lawn at Gold Hill Mesa, located at 142 S. Raven Mine Drive. Audiences are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to the event and can enjoy food trucks and drinks from the beverage tent, which will also be available. Pets are welcome.
