BEULAH: See extra smoke? Don’t worry

(BEULAH, Colo.) — Community members of Beulah may see an increase in smoke on Tuesday, July 2 due to a controlled burn.

Beulah Fire Protection and Ambulance District reported they will be burning a stash pile. The stash was brought in by citizens and also collected by structure protection.

The District is going to conduct a controlled burn on the slash pile today (July 2) while conditions are ideal and our crew is available to monitor the stash,” said the Facebook post. “Smoke will be visible in the valley and surrounding areas.”

Currently, fire crews with the Beulah Fire Department and the U.S. Forest Service are battling against the Oak Ridge Fire. As of July 2, the fire stood at 1,190 acres, and 690 personnel working to help contain the fire.
