(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Phantom Canyon is celebrating National Chicken Wing Day on Monday, July 29 with a competition that will test competitors’ endurance and will.
The Hot Wing Games will happen on Monday from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and the challenge to competitors is to eat five wings, two dressed in signature wing sauces created by Phantom Canyon chefs and three of the chef’s favorite spicy sauces from other creators.
However the competition is not eating the wings, it is what happens after they finish their wings. Participants will be tested by seeing whoever can hold out the longest for a drink of water. First place will get a $150 gift card, Phantom swag, one growler fill, and lots of free beer to take home in two growlers.
Second place will get a $75 gift card, Phantom swag, two free growler fills, and four hours of free pool. Third will get a $50 gift card, Phantom swag, a free growler fill, and four hours of free pool. All winners will get to take home some hot sauce.
The event is free to compete and spectate for those 18 years and older. Competitors need to sign up for the event with Eventbrite and at the time of writing there is no cap on competitors, according to Phantom Canyon.
Customers do not need to sign up if they would like to spectate and, on the day of the competition can get a limited-time offer of Phantom Canyon’s wings with signature sauces that will be in the Hot Wing Challenge either the wasabi buffalo sauce or chipotle sticky sweet heat glaze.
