(BEULAH, Colo.) — The Oak Ridge Fire Facebook page announced that the fire is now 100% contained after being started by a lightning strike on June 22, 2024.

The Oak Ridge Fire was reported on June 22 and spread to about 1,310 acres. The difficulty of the fire was due to the location in an area that was difficult for fire crews to reach. The fire caused pre-evacuations and evacuations for those living in the area.

Fire crews battled the fire by creating natural barriers and controlled burns to help contain the fire. On July 10 the fire was declared 76% contained and transitioned to a smaller management team.

Crews will continue to patrol and monitor heat that remains in the interior of fire lines.
