(MANITOU SPRINGS, Colo.) — The Manitou Springs Police Department (MSPD) is investigating an apparent drowning in the creek that runs parallel to Manitou Avenue, after an unidentified man was found on Monday, Aug. 5.
According to MSPD, officers responded around 6:20 a.m. on Monday to a report of a person in Fountain Creek behind the Subway sandwich shop in the 300 block of Manitou Avenue. When officers arrived, they determined that the unidentified man in the creek was dead.
MSPD said the investigation is ongoing, though the coroner and police have found no signs of trauma or foul play, and MSPD assures the community there is no threat to the safety of those in Manitou Springs.
