(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) reported a deadly shooting near Airport Road on Wednesday evening, Aug. 14.
According to CSPD, officers responded around 5:30 p.m. to a report of shots fired and one person injured in the 300 block of Ellers Grove, in a neighborhood west of Airport Road and South Powers Boulevard. When officers arrived, they found three people suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
A fourth person was discovered with a gunshot wound at a nearby business in the 400 block of Flyway Point.
According to CSPD, one person died on the scene from their injuries. The three other victims were taken to the hospital for treatment. CSPD said everyone involved in this incident are accounted for, and there is no known threat to the public.
Currently, the CSPD homicide unit is responding and will assume the investigation. At this time, investigators do not believe this was a random act.
