(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A person was arrested after allegedly climbing on top of a tow truck to try and stop their car from being towed and then assaulting a responding police officer.
According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), officers responded shortly after 2 p.m. to a disturbance near the intersection of South 8th Street and West Cimarron Avenue. When they arrived, officers found a person, later identified as Angelic Ross, “interfering” with a tow truck driver.
CSPD said Ross was allegedly climbing the boom of the truck, preventing the tow truck driver from towing a car. Officers tried to talk Ross down from the boom, but had to physically remove Ross from the tow truck. During the altercation, CSPD said Ross allegedly assaulted one of the officers.
CSPD said Ross was eventually taken into custody, and the officer was treated at the hospital for cuts and bruises to one of his arms. Ross was charged with Second Degree Assault for assaulting the officer, along with several other charges in connection to the disturbance.
