(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The City of Colorado Springs said drivers should prepare for road closures at South Nevada Avenue near I-25 on Friday, Oct. 18 to allow crews to move construction barriers.
The City said the closures will start on Friday at 9 p.m. and last until Saturday, Oct. 19 at 5 a.m. The closure will happen in two phases Northbound S. Nevada Ave. between Brookside Street and I-25 ramps will close first then the I-25 South Connector Road between South Tejon Street and S. Nevada Ave. will close.
The City said detours will be in place:
Northbound traffic on S. Nevada Ave. should take Brookside St. to S. Tejon St. Proceed to I-25 South Connector Road to South Nevada Avenue.
I-25 southbound traffic should take S. Tejon St. to Brookside St. Proceed to S.Nevada Ave. to I-25 South.

The City is advising drivers to plan for additional travel time and seek alternate routes. If work is delayed or interrupted, a second closure will begin on Sunday, Oct. 20 through Monday, Oct. 21 at 5 a.m.
