“In exploring attitudes and opinions about trick-or-treating with parents on Nextdoor, one point was clear: neighbors love Halloween,” said Jacob Chavis, Senior Manager of Customer Analytics & Insights. “Our results revealed that Halloween was favored over holidays including Valentine’s Day, New Year’s Eve, and Thanksgiving with parents on Nextdoor. With the return of the Treat Map, families can ensure they’re getting the most out of this beloved neighborhood tradition.”
The neighborhoods were found by NextDoor Treat Map, where people can pin their home, business, or community event to the Treat Map to signal how they are celebrating the spooky season with décor and/or candy.
The study also found most neighbors expect to spend $277 during their Halloween shopping, including costumes, decorations, and candy.
According to the survey, neighbors expect most trick-or-treaters at around 6 p.m.
