(COLORADO) — The Lakewood Police Department shared details of the alleged kidnapping of a child on Monday, Nov. 25.
According to the Lakewood Police Department, on Monday at around 6 a.m. officers were called to a home in the 1700 block of Kendall Street in Lakewood about a suspicious incident. When police arrived they found a man with a gunshot wound, who was immediately taken to the hospital.
During the investigation, police learned the man’s son, identified as 7-year-old Uriah Saye Jr., was missing from the home and was not with family. Investigators developed information on the suspect, 26-year-old Crystal Denmon, who Lakewood Police said was not the child’s mother, was with Saye in a white Ford Focus and was last seen around 12:50 p.m. in Cheraw, Colorado near La Junta.
At around 3:45 p.m. Colorado State Patrol (CSP) found the Focus and was able to rescue Saye and arrest Denmon. Denmon is facing charges of Attempted Homicide and Kidnapping.
Later Monday night Saye was reunited with his family and his father is stable, according to the Lakewood Police Department.
