First Holiday Fest held at Fort Carson

(FORT CARSON, Colo.) — Military families enjoyed some holiday fun on Friday, Dec. 6 during the first ever Fort Carson Holiday Fest at Iron Horse park.

At the Holiday Fest, there was a tree lighting, a holiday market with local vendors, train rides, and real reindeer. Even Santa took some time from his busy schedule to stop by the Mountain Post. Organizers called it an exciting opportunity for Fort Carson community members to come together and create memories.

“We had a brigade just return from a deployment, and so it’s super important during the holiday season to put our family first, and then ourselves, and everything else goes away, right? Life, stress, everything’s put on the back burner so we can enjoy spending time with those that we care about and truly love,” said Ryan Noble, Director of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation on Fort Carson.

If you’re looking for more holiday fun at Fort Carson, you can show off your holiday spirit this weekend in the Jingle Bell Jog. The run is happening at Iron Horse Park on Saturday morning at 9:0 a.m.
