Christkindlmarket coming to Old Colorado City

(OLD COLORADO CITY, Colo.) — A new market will be making its way to Southern Colorado around the holidays next year.

Christkindlmarket, an authentic German-style holiday market will be expanding to Old Colorado City in 2025. The market would be the second location in Colorado and the third location in the U.S.

“The GACC-CO wanted to take the Denver Christkindlmarket’s success of strengthening the city’s culture and economic opportunities to Colorado Springs by producing a Christkindlmarket that reflects its extraordinary community and adds to the magic of the holiday season,” said Samantha Seems, German American Chamber of Commerce – Colorado Chapter (GACC-CO).

The GACC-CO says Colorado Springs has a rich and unique heritage, and Old Colorado City is the ideal location for a ‘festive and cozy’ Christkindlmarket as the arts district is committed to preserving history and culture.

“Old Colorado City and the German American Chamber of Commerce recognize the sights, sounds, and tastes that make Colorado Springs unique are the reason the city flourishes,” said the President of OCC Partnership Sara Vaas. “The Old Colorado City Christkindlmarket will be a festive holiday market representing the culture, businesses, and people of Colorado Springs.”

According to the GACC-Co, over 20% of Colorado Springs residents claim German ancestry, and the city is a natural fit for the authentic market.

Details on opening dates, vendors, and entertainment will be announced in Spring 2025.
