Space surveillance and intelligence company selects Colorado Springs for expansion

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Digantara, a leading space surveillance and intelligence company will be expanding to Colorado Springs bringing more than 60 new jobs to the Pikes Peak Region.

The announcement was made by the Global Business Development Division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) on Monday, Feb. 10. Governor Jared Polis, Colorado Springs Mayor Yemi Mobolade along with other City and County leaders, joined OEDIT for the exciting announcement.

“Based in India, Digantara develops space surveillance systems designed to manage increasing orbital traffic and enhance space operations by delivering accurate and real-time orbital insights,” according to a press release. “The company’s systems pair constellations of cost-efficient nanosatellites in low earth orbit with precise modeling to enable the space industry to secure long-term spaceflight safety and build maps for space.”

According to Digantara, it plans to establish a Satellite Assembly, Integration and Testing (AIT) facility in Colorado Springs.

“Colorado stands at the heart of the U.S. aerospace-defense ecosystem, making it the perfect base for Digantara,” said Anirudh Sharma, CEO of Digantara. “Here, we aim to collaborate with the U.S. aerospace and defense community locally, advancing global space security through innovation and partnership.”

2,000 aerospace companies currently call Colorado home, which according to OEDIT, is an increase of 26% over the last five years.

“When companies like Digantara expand in our state, they continue to strengthen this key sector of our economy while advancing innovative new technologies that will be critical to space and space missions,” said OEDIT Executive Director Eve Lieberman.

Digantara will bring 61 new jobs to Colorado Springs at an average annual wage of $82,645 and they will be hiring for several positions including; software engineers, systems engineers, business developers, human resources, and finance roles.
