Fire Station #24 on track to alleviate community pressure

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) gave an update on the progress of the new Fire Station #24 being built near the intersection of Powers Boulevard and Interquest, saying that the station will be a big impact on the community.

According to the Pikes Peak Regional Building District, the station, which broke ground in May of 2024, has had 32 inspections done on it so far.

This station will relieve the pressure on Station #22 near Northgate and Station #19 in Briargate, the closest two stations to the fast-growing northern Colorado Springs area. The new station will also have wildland trucks to help battle wildfires.

A new fire truck started helping with the increased number of calls on the north side in February, responding to medical calls, structure and wildland fires, car crashes, and other calls for service. According to CSFD, last month the “Brush 24” truck ran 70 calls, showing the need for the extra coverage the new station will bring.
