DENVER (KDVR) — Mandatory and voluntary evacuations are in place north of Dry Creek Reservoir after a wildfire sparked in Berthoud.
At 1:45 p.m. on Monday, Larimer Emergency Telephone Authority alerted the community of a wildfire in the area of the 5300 block of CR8E. This is near Dry Creek Reservoir.

The alert said mandatory evacuations were ordered for the 5300 block of West County Road 8E between County Road 23 on the east, going west to County Road 31 and between Homer Road on the north-south to County Road 6.
Meanwhile, voluntary evacuations were ordered for the 5300 block of West County Road 8E between North County Road 23 on the east going west to Highway 287 and between 42nd Street Southwest on the north and south to West County Road 8. This includes Lonetree Reservoir and Welch Reservoir.
At this time, it’s unclear the cause of the wildfire, how far the wildfire has spread or the status of containment.
