(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) reported that on Friday, May 23, an unknown man passed out on the porch of an apartment and then ran from the police when they tried to make contact, leading to an arrest and one officer injured during the chase.
According to CSPD, when officers arrived around 4:30 p.m. to investigate a trespassing call on the 3800 block of Half Turn Road, near North Academy Boulevard and North Carefree Circle, officers found the man who had been reported as having passed out on the porch of a person’s apartment.
CSPD reported that when police made contact with the man, later identified as Brian Hatton, he ran from officers. While chasing Hatton, one of the officers fell and was injured. The suspect also fell and was caught. Officers identified him and found that he was wanted on a felony warrant.
Hatton was medically cleared and booked into the Criminal Justice Center.
