(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) alerted authorities to a package it believed contained narcotics on Friday, May 23, leading to an arrest, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD).
CSPD said on Friday, officers were called to the USPS office in the 4300 block of Montebello Drive, near North Academy Boulevard and Austin Bluffs Parkway, along with a Fountain K9 unit, about a possible narcotics case. USPS said it had a package in its possession that it believed contained narcotics.
The package was delivered and subsequently picked up by the suspect. Police followed the suspect and contacted them in the same block of Montebello Drive, according to CSPD. The Fountain K9 alerted to the package, and CSPD said almost three pounds of illegal drugs were recovered.
