(COLORADO CITY, Colo.) — A 50-year-old man who was being investigated in the alleged stabbing of his wife in Colorado City was found dead several days after the incident.
According to the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), deputies originally responded around 9 a.m. on June 19 to the 5100 block of Isabella Drive, east of Beckwith Reservoir in Colorado City, on a report of a woman suffering a medical emergency. When deputies arrived, the learned the woman had been stabbed several times.
PCSO said the 32-year-old woman was taken to the hospital and later transferred to Colorado Springs, where she continues to recover from multiple serious stab wounds. Detectives determined the woman’s husband was the lone suspect in the case, but he had not been arrested.
On Monday, June 23, deputies responded to the same home on Isabella Drive on a reported apparent suicide. When they arrived, deputies found a man, identified as the victim’s husband, dead in the home. PCSO said the man will be identified by the Pueblo County Coroner.
