Mermaid Royal Ball: A magical night for kids with special needs

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A magical underwater adventure is taking place Friday, July 25 at the Downtown Aquarium in Denver for kids with special and medical needs. The Voyager Foundation is hosting its 2nd Annual Mermaid Royal Ball, and it’s not too late for families to sign up.

Jasmine Nelson, Event Coordinator, joined FOX21 Morning News on Monday, July 21, to talk about the event and what participants can expect.

The Voyager Foundation is a nonprofit organization that supports kids with special needs or chronic medical conditions. “What we do is throw really awesome events for the kids,” said Nelson. “They’re always free, always fun, very grandiose, and we’re really looking forward to the one we have coming up on Friday.”

The event includes mermaid shows, dancing, professional photos, and a red carpet entrance. “All kids, regardless of their ability, deserve to have nights where they can just have fun,” said Nelson.

RSVPs are required ahead of the event.
