Uncle Wilber Fountain, located at Acacia Park in Downtown Colorado Springs, will be closed due to an urgent repair to a high-pressure water line. The fountain is open each season between May and September.

This year, the fountain’s closing day is set for Monday, September 1. Beginning the week of August 11, the fountain will only operate on weekends until Labor Day.

“We expect to have it back up and running by Friday morning, July 25—just in time for weekend fun!” wrote Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Services via Facebook. “Thank you for your patience and understanding while we take care of this essential maintenance.”

When it is open, the hours of operation are between noon and 6 p.m., with fountain sessions divided into time slots of 12-2 p.m., 2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m., and 5 to 6 p.m., with 30-minute breaks between each session for safety.
