(ELLICOTT, Colo.) — Ellicott Utilities Company (EUC) has issued a Boil Water Notice for all of its water customers after repairs were made.
Repairs to the water system were completed on Wednesday, July 23, at around 10:30 a.m. According to the utilities website, maintenance crews were slowly building pressure and flushing water pipes throughout the system.
Customers may experience hazy water conditions due to “disturbed sediment in the waterlines,” according to EUC. Due to the valve maintenance procedure, EUC issued a Boil Water Notice for all water customers.
Individuals are asked to boil all tap water used for:
Drinking
Cooking
Brushing teeth
Washing fruits/vegetables
Making ice
Water should be boiled for at least one minute at a rolling boil. The community should also not use unboiled tap water for consumption.
The notice will remain in effect until water system samples confirm that the water is safe, and EUC will provide updates on their website linked above.
