Were you there? CSP seeks witnesses of crash where motorcyclist was dragged at least half mile

DENVER (KDVR) — The Colorado State Patrol is searching for witnesses of a crash that occurred Saturday on Highway 6 in Gilpin County.

Troopers responded to milepost 268 near Golden on Saturday, Sept. 20 at about 7:21 p.m. The agency said that a motorcyclist was traveling east on Highway 6 when they lost control of the vehicle, causing it to slide into a Honda CR-V.

The 46-year-old man was ejected from the motorcycle and landed in the westbound lanes, where CSP said he was hit by a second vehicle. The rider was dragged somewhere between a half-mile to a mile west of the initial crash scene by the second vehicle.

CSP did not say how injured the rider was or if the crash was deadly. FOX31 has reached out for clarification.

The agency is seeking witnesses of the crash or anyone who was traveling in the area between 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday and believes they may have hit debris in the road. Those individuals are being asked to contact the CSP Denver Regional Dispatch Center at 303-239-4501 and reference case number VC250351.
