(PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo.) — An investigation into counterfeit money led to the arrests of three people and the discovery of drugs, a gun, and a live explosive device in a car associated with the suspects.
According to the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), deputies originally responded to Battle Ground Skilled Gaming on Santa Fe Drive in Blende around 2 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 28 after an employee reported receiving two counterfeit $100 bills from two customers. When deputies arrived, they spoke with two people, identified as 33-year-old Jackson Gill and 28-year-old Kayla Dockins, about the transaction.
PCSO said deputies then learned that Gill was wanted on a felony warrant out of Huerfano County. While investigating the incident, deputies looked inside the car Gill and Dockins had arrived in with another man, identified as 37-year-old Gabriel Rivera-Leiba. Inside the car, deputies saw suspected drugs, a gun, and what appeared to be a homemade pipe bomb.
Based on what was seen in the car, deputies executed a search warrant and found 15 grams of methamphetamine, a shotgun, an explosive device, and assorted credit cards and identification cards belonging to other people. The Pueblo Metro Bomb Team was called, and the explosive was determined to be live. The device was safely removed from the car.
