(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A suspicious package at a shopping area near Lake Avenue and South Nevada Avenue was determined to be a hoax by the Regional Explosives Unit (REU) on Monday morning, Oct. 6, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD).
CSPD stated that a call came in around 7:15 a.m. on Monday reporting a suspicious package in the 2100 block of Southgate Road. Officers secured the area while detectives from the REU responded and discovered that the package was a hoax device.
Detectives will continue to investigate in an attempt to identify the person responsible for leaving the package.
