(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — On Friday, Oct. 10, the El Paso County Clerk and Recorder’s Office mailed more than 500,000 ballots to all eligible, active registered voters for the Nov. 4, 2025, Coordinated Election.
The 2025 Coordinated Election ballot will contain contests for local candidates, school boards, two statewide measures and several local measures or issues, and the County Commissioner District 5 vacancy race. The content of a voter’s ballot will depend on the precinct where they live.
Voters are urged to research the items on the ballot in advance using the Colorado General Assembly Ballot Information Booklet and the El Paso County TABOR Notice that was mailed earlier in October.
“As your Clerk & Recorder, my promise is simple: secure, transparent, and accessible elections,” said Clerk Steve Schleiker. “Every ballot is tracked end-to-end and processed with bipartisan oversight. With 41 drop boxes and helpful in-person services, please vote early and contact us if you need any assistance.”
The El Paso County Clerk and Recorder’s Office said there are 41 secure 24/7 ballot drop-box locations throughout El Paso County, and that 99% of the county’s population lives within a 15-minute drive of one of these locations.
According to the Clerk’s Office, voters can also return their ballot through the U.S. Postal Service (USPS). However, voters should affix $0.73 postage when returning their ballot through the USPS. The Clerk’s Office recommends that voters do not return their voted ballot by mail after Oct. 28. All voted ballots must be returned to the Clerk and Recorder’s Office by 7 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 4, to be counted.
The Clerk’s Office said postmarked ballots received after the deadline cannot be counted.
Any voter needing a replacement ballot or other in-person services may visit the Clerk and Recorder’s Office at 1675 West Garden of the Gods Road. Starting Oct. 27, five additional Voter Service and Polling Centers (VSPCs), for a total of 12 VSPCs opening in phases by Election Day.
El Paso County anticipates ballots arriving in voters’ mailboxes by Friday, Oct. 17.
