(PUEBLO, Colo.) — The Pueblo Police Department (PPD) is searching for additional suspects after a series of armed robberies on Sunday, Oct. 12.
Just after 11 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 12, PPD got a call about an armed robbery at Coco Man Liquors, located at 1910 East 4th Street. Only a little afterwards, at 11:12 p.m., PPD received another robbery alert from an Alta convenience store at 2102 North Norwood Avenue.
Responding PPD officers encountered two stolen silver Hyundai sedans, which they identified as suspect vehicles used in the robberies. According to PPD, the suspects drove away from the marked police cars at high rates of speed until one car crashed at the intersection of 8th Street and Elizabeth Street.
As of Monday, Oct. 13, PPD has not released whether anyone other than the suspects was harmed in the crash. One occupant inside the crashed Hyundai was taken to the hospital, where he remains in serious, life-threatening condition, while another man was taken into PPD custody for questioning.
The second stolen Hyundai was found empty in the 1900 Block of Constitution Road, just off of Highway 50. PPD and the Colorado State Patrol are searching for the remaining suspects still at large.
PPD requests that anyone with information about the incident contact Pueblo Crime Stoppers at 719-542-7867 or via their website.
