1 person dead, 3 others injured after 3-vehicle crash on Highway 24

UPDATE: Colorado State Patrol (CSP) has confirmed a three-vehicle car crash on Highway 24. CSP was recently made aware that a fourth vehicle may have also been involved.

According to CSP, one person was pronounced dead at the scene. Three other people were transported to local hospitals. Their conditions are not known at this time.

The vehicles involved in the crash include a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle, a minivan, and a dump truck. CSP did not have a description of the possible fourth vehicle.

Crews are working to clear the scene and also clean up fuel that was spilled by the dump truck.

Highway 24 is blocked in both directions. An estimated reopening time was not available.

ORIGINAL: EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. — The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is reporting that US Highway 24 is blocked in both directions due to a crash.

The crash is being reported between Smith Ranch Road and Log Road North which is four to five miles west of the Calhan area.
