13th Annual Mayor’s Cup Golf Tournament

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The 13th Annual Mayor’s Cup Golf Tournament took place on Thursday, Oct. 10 at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs.

FOX21 News Storm Team Chief Meteorologist Matt Meister was live at the tournament on Thursday morning, giving viewers an inside look at the yearly tradition.

According to the City of Colorado Springs’ website, “Since its inception, the tournament has raised more than $650,000 with all net proceeds going back to the community.”

Matt spoke with Mayor Yemi Mobolade on Thursday who spoke about the importance of the annual event and the various organizations that the tournament benefits.

“So, we are supporting Pikes Peak State College, our law enforcement efforts… and First Tee of Southern Colorado,” said the Mayor about this year’s tournament.

News Director Joe Cole also emceed the event and FOX21 is a proud sponsor.
