(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Winners for the annual Arts on the Streets exhibit were announced at the exhibit opening reception on Thursday, June 6.
Thirteen works were selected by a jury for the 2024-2025 exhibition, which includes six murals and seven sculptures. The First Place Juror Award, with a prize of 10,000, was given to Juan Morales for his mural, “Hope Always Floats.” His artwork is located on the Meanwhile Block on Sierra Madre Street between Costilla and Cimmaron streets.
Jurors also recognized the following works:
Second place, $2,500 to “Kissing Camels” by Naomi Haverland of Titusville, Florida.
Third place, $1,000 to “Air Garden II” by Stephen Buduo of St. Louis, Missouri.
Honorable mention, $500 to “Colorado Butterflies” by Ian Stewart of Manitou Springs.
The public also voted on the “People’s Choice Award” for the 25th annual exhibition, they chose “Mary Mashburn” by Carlos Oliva of Montreal, Canada. Oliva earned a $1,000 prize The public can now vote on this year’s 26th exhibition at www.DowntownCS.com/AOTS.
