(PUEBLO, Colo.) — The Pueblo School for Arts and Sciences (PSAS) is hosting its 30th Annual Empty Bowls event on Friday, Nov. 7, at the Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center in Pueblo, located at 210 North Santa Fe Avenue.
The event aims to support Posada of Pueblo and the Pueblo Soup Kitchen by selling handmade ceramic bowls created by local students. Guests can enjoy a variety of soups prepared by PSAS staff and local restaurants, with live entertainment provided by students.
FOX21 Morning News highlighted the event on Thursday, Nov. 6, and spoke with several guests on the show about what people can expect.
“We will have chicken tortilla soup… I’ll be doing a loaded baked potato soup, a green chile sausage soup, and a wedding soup as well,” said Nick Yatsko, Food Service Director for PSAS.
The Empty Bowls event is scheduled to have two serving times on Friday, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Tori Manzanares, Community Outreach and Enrollment Coordinator for PSAS, said, “At the end of the day, it’s an event to bring the community together and to help those who need it.”
Fifth-grade student, Avery, also showcased a bowl she made for the event and described it as “a sunflower, and I made it 3D.”
