(COLORADO SPRINGS) — After a hotel in Pueblo was condemned, 38 cats were found in one room and rescued by the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR). After the initial intake, another 30 animals were rescued or surrendered because of displacement.
After bringing the abandoned pets into the shelter, HSPPR reached out to the community, looking for foster parents and forever parents.
The community responded quickly and compassionately—many of the animals have already been rescued.
HSPPR posted Tuesday, May 28, that 31 of the animals have been adopted, while 14 were returned to their families, and another 2 cats were rescued by HSPPR partners. There are still another 20 or so pets waiting patiently for love and attention in the shelter.
If you would like to adopt one of these animals, please contact HSPPR at 719-473-1741 or visit them at 610 Abbot Lane, in Colorado Springs, CO.
