75-year-old dies after leaving scene of crash in Briargate

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A 75-year-old woman died after she allegedly left the scene of a crash in Briargate despite being injured.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), officers originally responded just before 8 a.m. on Monday, March 3 to a crash at the intersection of Chapel Hills Drive and Dynamic Drive, near John Venezia Park. When officers arrived, they learned that one of the drivers had left the scene.

The crash investigation revealed that a car had been turning left onto Chapel Hills Drive from Dynamic Drive when it was hit by a car traveling on Chapel Hills. The left turning car that was hit then left the scene.

That weekend, on March 8, CSPD received a call from an address on Heathrow Drive, near where the crash occurred. The caller reported that they believed their mother had been involved in a crash and had possibly been injured. Officers responded to the home and identified the 75-year-old driver and her car as having been involved in the hit-and-run crash on March 3.

On March 13, CSPD was notified that the 75-year-old had passed away due to injuries sustained in the crash. The El Paso Coroner identified her as Ann Marie Langlois of Colorado Springs.

According to CSPD, this is the fifth traffic fatality in Colorado Springs in 2025. At the same time in 2024, there had been 15.
