8-year-old gets wish granted to go to Disney World

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A sendoff party was held on Wednesday, Dec. 4 for a little girl who had leukemia and wished to go to Disney World.

The sendoff party was hosted by Make-A-Wish Colorado and the Red Robin in Chapel Hills for 8-year-old Genevieve, to celebrate her wish being granted along with the end of her leukemia treatments. Genevieve will embark on her Disney adventure on Dec. 8 and enjoy her magical stay until Dec. 14.

The sendoff party was held at Red Robin, which is one of Genevieve’s favorite restaurants. The party was decked out in Disney-themed decorations, and Genevieve’s friends and family got to partake in the party as well.

The party also served as the kickoff to a give-back campaign by Red Robin, to benefit Make-A-Wish Colorado. On Tuesday, Dec. 10, all 21 Red Robin restaurants throughout Colorado will give 20% of eligible net dine-in and to-go sales to Make-A-Wish Colorado. Diners must mention “Make-A-Wish” to their server or note it on their online order checkout to activate the donation.
