(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Before you settle in for a night of good food, drinks, and cheering on your favorite team, head to Downtown Colorado Springs for the 12th running of the Super Half Marathon and Game Day 5K, this year featuring a Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce costume contest!
The Marathon, hosted by the Pikes Peak Road Runners, will take place on Sunday, Feb. 11, beginning at 10:00 a.m. in Downtown Colorado Springs.
Runners will start on Colorado Avenue near Tejon Street, head west to the Pikes Peak Greenway Trail, and turn north. The 5K turnaround is near Uintah Street; half-marathoners will turn around between University Village and the I-25 underpass. The finish line is in America the Beautiful Park.
Organizers said registration surpassed the 1,000 mark on Feb. 4, and race director Tim Bergsten said he hopes the final signup will approach 1,400, making this one of the largest races in Colorado Springs.
“This has become Colorado Springs’s Super Sunday tradition, along a great urban trail through our city center,” Bergsten said. “We put on a nice show infused with football themes. I think our Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce costume contest this year will be a blast.”
The festive game day atmosphere includes a live warmup band, colorful water stations along the course, a golden football for winners to carry across the finish line, and a postrace celebration at Jack Quinn’s Irish Alehouse on South Tejon Street.
To encourage participants to run in style, Bergsten is offering $50 prizes plus free entries to the 2025 race for the best Taylor and Travis costumes.
Runners can register through Saturday, Feb. 10 at $75 for the half marathon or $40 for the 5K, or on race day for an additional $10. In-person registration is available at the Plaza of the Rockies, 121 South Tejon, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Saturday or at 9:00 a.m. on race morning.
