(COLORADO SPRINGS) — According to the Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD), a gas line sprung a leak when hit by construction crews in the neighborhood at Thornhill Drive in the Briargate area on Tuesday, March 5.
CSFD said crews responded to clamp the leak, but as they were working, the gas from the line ignited.
Crews kept the fire under control and kept it from spreading to nearby homes as they clamped the line and extinguished the fire. Colorado Springs Utilities is now working to repair the line.
