Diner reopens after being closed two years due to fire

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — On Monday, April 1 Gunther Toody’s announced that after two years its Woodmen Road store was reopening to guests.

In September 2022 a fire broke out at the Gunther Toody’s on Woodmen Road and Duryea Drive. One firefighter was injured during the fire, but the Colorado Springs Fire Department said the fire was brought under control.

On April 1, 2024, Gunther Toody’s announced the grand reopening of the location. Gunther Toody’s said the kitchen is buzzing ready to make its classic burgers and shakes.

“As we reopen our doors, we do so with immense gratitude for your patience, support, and encouragement. It’s been a journey, but one thing is for sure—Gunther Toody’s is more than just a diner; we’re a family. And families rebuild stronger, together,”
