Body of missing 76-year-old man found in Skaguay Reservoir

(SOUTHERN COLORADO) — The body that was found on Tuesday, June 4 at the Skaguay Reservoir has been identified as the 76-year-old man who went missing in Fremont County.

Frederick (Fred) Arnold was last seen on Thursday, May 23, deputies at Fremont County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) said he was going fishing and usually returns the same day.

On June 4, Arnold was positively identified at around 7:30 p.m. by Teller County Sheriff’s Office (TSCO) who posted about the discovery of the body earlier that same day. According to a post, Arnold was a firefighter for many years and was a veteran.

The cause and manner is still under investigation. TCSO will release more information as it becomes available.
