(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) has arrested a man allegedly connected with a fatal hit-and-run that occurred at the intersection of Airport Road and Chelton Road in December of 2023.

According to CSPD, around 2:45 p.m. on December 8, 2023, officers responded to the scene of a crash involving a car and a pedestrian, after which the car left the scene. The pedestrian, later identified as 84-year-old Dolores Holler, was taken to the hospital where she later died from her injuries.

According to CSPD, 48-year-old Alejandro Balderas-Avilez was arrested on Wednesday, June 12, and charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident Involving Death, and was booked into the El Paso County Jail.

Balderas-Avilez is due in El Paso County Court on June 20.
