Fire crews battle David Meadow Fire in Salida

(CHAFFEE COUNTY, Colo.) — The U.S Forest Service (USFS) reported a fire on Sunday night, July 7 in Chaffee County.

The fire near the David Meadow Trail currently stands at .10 acre as of Monday, July 8. According to the USFS, it’s located in the Salida Ranger District, six miles northwest of Buena Vista.

On Monday afternoon, the USFS reported a fire engine had reached the David Meadow Fire and crews were working to contain the fire. At the moment, the fire has a low spread potential.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
