Two dead after head-on collision on Highway 24

(FALCON, Colo.) — The Colorado State Patrol (CSP) said alcohol is considered a factor in a head-on collision that happened in the evening of Wednesday, July 11 leaving two people dead, including a minor.

According to CSP, on Wednesday after 10:15 p.m., a Chevy Silverado was traveling west on Highway 24 between Judge Orr Road and Stapleton Drive northeast of Falcon when it swerved into eastbound lanes and crashed head-on into a Jeep Wrangler traveling east.

There were three people in the Jeep, a 41-year-old man, a 12-year-old girl, and a 9-year-old boy. CSP said the man and the girl died in the crash. The 9-year-old boy and 46-year-old driver of the Chevy survived. The boy was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
