(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A vehicle fire in the evening hours of Monday, July 29 is being investigated as an arson after evidence found indicated the fire was intentionally set, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD).
On Monday, at around 8:45 p.m., first responders received calls about a vehicle fire in the 2600 block of West Vermijo Avenue near South 26th Street. Callers reported five vehicles on fire and the fire was threatening buildings.
Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) personnel responded to the scene and contained the fire limiting the damage to three vans and three trailers.

CSPD said evidence on the scene indicated the fire was intentionally set and CSFD Arson Investigators and detectives with the Regional Explosive Unit responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.
