(SOUTHERN COLORADO) — If you’ve lived in this area long enough, you might have heard it frequently snows on Halloween or at least gets super cold. But is that actually the truth or a myth? The records indicate that it might be more of a fallacy than truth.
According to the National Weather Service, which has been keeping records since 1895, There have been only 34 times that Southern Colorado has seen a trace of snow or more on Halloween. That means there is only a 27 percent chance of seeing 0.01″ or more on October 21st.
While it might not actually snow on Halloween frequently, it is highly likely that kids have had to bundle up for trick-or-treating, at least. The average high on Halloween is 54 degrees and the average low is 31 degrees.
