Salvation Army in desperate need of dinner rolls for Thanksgiving

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Salvation Army is sending out a call for help to get a last-minute donation of a Thanksgiving staple for its annual meal on Thursday, Nov. 28.

The Salvation Army said its shipment of dinner rolls did not arrive and now there are 2,200 Thanksgiving meals without the signature side.

If you would like to donate packages of dinner rolls, they can be dropped off until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27 at 908 Yuma Street.

The Thanksgiving Day Community Meal will take place on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at four locations:

The Salvation Army Colorado Springs, 908 Yuma Street

Woodland Park Nazarene Church, 900 Evergreen Drive

Manitou Springs City Hall, 606 Manitou Avenue

Fountain Valley Senior Center, 5745 Southmoor Drive

The event is free and open to the public. The Salvation Army said many of the people it serves are elderly and those who have nowhere else to go.
