(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) responded to a disturbance near Academy Boulevard that led to a man running into a drainage tunnel to avoid police.
On Wednesday, Dec. 4, CSPD responded to an active domestic disturbance involving a knife in the 3100 block of Boychuck Ave, near Academy Blvd. Upon arrival, officers found the suspect, identified as 52-year-old Trey Gaffron, had left.
Officers found Graffon, who was wanted on several active arrest warrants, and he ran into a drainage tunnel under Academy Blvd. Officers spoke to the suspect to try and convince him to walk out of the drainage tunnel, and after approximately 40 minutes, Graffon came out and was arrested without incident.
Graffon was arrested on active arrest warrants, in addition to new charges that include felony menacing and attempted second-degree assault.
