(LAMAR, Colo.) — The Colorado State Patrol (CSP) is currently responding to a fatal crash that has shut down over 40 miles of a major roadway in Lamar.
At around 4:04 a.m., CSP received a call for dispatch. According to State Patrol, a passenger had jumped out of a Greyhound bus while the bus was going northbound on Highway 287/385. The passenger was hit by another car and killed.
Lamar LaJunta Troop reported via Facebook at 4:50 a.m. that Highway 287 on Mile Point (MP) 68 was closed in both directions due to the crash. That was later extended, and at this time, both southbound and northbound roads are closed from MP 31, south of Lamar near County Road CC5, to MP 73 near 1st Avenue in Springfield.
